Important information for club members

Hello Team Elswick:
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Ladies Captain Lalage Brown, Gina Cappocci Ladies Vice Captain and Men’s Cross Country Captain David Jardin for all their hard work, endeavour and selfless volunteering in their respective roles and responsibilities on the club’s committee.
With the Annual General Meeting on the horizon and as Lalage, Gina & David stand down from their positions, it means that the committee would now like to take this opportunity to ask our club members if ‘you’ would consider stepping into one of these positions which have been vacated. A further explanation is citied below.

Cross Country – North East Harrier League:

1a. A reminder that the club tent and trolley are both available for club members, parents & guardians to take to and return from a venue. A table is available on the club’s noticeboard to which you can assign your name to a venue for collection and return of the tent. The new tent is ‘double telescopic and will fit into almost all cars. Don’t forget the bags containing the sides & roof!

1b. Don’t forget to keep your number for the entire NEHL season. If you lose or forget your number the replacement cost (£3) is down to the individual and not the club.

Dates for your diary:

2a. This Sunday, October 8th – Druridge Bay NEHL Cross Country – Your club needs your support & participation. If you have not registered your intent to run – please contact Steve Robertson via the club’s Facebook page or alternatively, contact Tom Hanson this Thursday at the clubs training evening.
Further to this, if anyone can help Michelle Coleman & Rob Wilson help distribute flyers for the Norman Woodcock Event that would be appreciated by the club. Thank you.

2b. The club’s AGM will take place on FRIDAY 20th OCTOBER 2017 at Newburn Leisure Centre Ground floor meeting room – proceedings start at 7.30pm prompt. Your attendance will be welcome.

There are vacancies on the committee working group. If you feel you can support the club in this way then please do take the time to have a look at the Committee Re-Election Table which will be placed on the club’s noticeboard. If you feel you could help your club, the committee encourages you to stand for election.

2c. The 2018 LONDON MARATHON CLUB PLACE(S) ALLOCATION: A slight change to the way the places are awarded for 2018. A ‘free – non proof of rejection required’. All you have to do is to attend your AGM – place your name into the hat and one lucky athlete will be drawn out at the end of the evening and have a guaranteed 2018 place.

The remaining place(s) will require proof of rejection notification from the London Marathon organisers. To express your interest – please give your rejection slip to Tom Hanson. Your name will be placed into the draw. The draw will take place at a time TBC. The lucky recipients will be then be notified in due course.

2d. Sherman Cup & Davison Shield XC Championships are on Saturday 28th October 2017. A cross country team & individual scratch race program (no packs!). Venue: Temple Park, South Shields.

2e. The club’s Norman Woodcock Event on Saturday 25th November 2017 at Gosforth Race Course. The club needs volunteer’s marshals, time recording assistance and a pool of club runners willing to make up Un-attached teams. If you can help and give up a couple of hours the names please to Tom Hanson, Graham Bell, and Steve Robertson. There will be a list on the club’s noticeboard or contact using the clubs Facebook page.

2f. The clubs junior xmas party has been organised the junior coaches. Details will follow in due course.
