Berlin Marathon

Congratulations to Scott Brady & Dean Pepperell, Two Elswick Athletes who took to the streets of Berlin yesterday in the BMW Marathon. They were part of a race that saw a worlds best time for the marathon distance take a significant step closer towards a sub 2 hour marathon. A special day indeed. For Elswick’s pairing, both athletes ran personal bests: Scott ran his first sub 3 hour marathon, clocking a 2.58.40. Dean in his first marathon, posted a 3.25.44. In warm conditions both runners, I shall assume, had a great day. Once again, congratulations to both runners. In the elite men’s race, Kenya’s Eluid Kipochoge took to the front immediately and stayed out on his own all the way through to the finish, crossing the line in a new world best time of 2.01.39. In the elite women’s race, it was Kenya’s Gladys Chernoo who took the winners tape in superb 2.18.11.
