Fancy a Ten Mile Run or Race? Then you have come to the right place!

Hello Team Elswick. For those club members looking to run a ‘long event’ or aiming for a PB or in preparation for the Great North Run, why not try one or two of the following 10 mile runs events coming round in the next few weeks. First up on Sunday 19th August, Club Senior Coach Tom Hanson will be putting on a 10 mile handicap run. Names please to FB or speak to Tom on a training evening. Starting from the Keelman the course runs out towards Wylam, Ovingham and finishing at the Keelman. (The start time is to be confirmed, provisionally though 10am).

On Sunday 26th August if would like to race, then sign up to the Tynedale 10 mile ‘Jelly Tea’ Road Race. Two weeks out from the Great North Run, it is an ideal preparation run. The run also incorporates NECAA & NEMAA 10 mile championships, so for the V35 & V40’s age group and over, there are championship medals to be won. Starting and finishing at Ovingham Middle School this is a fast 10 mile road race on an out and back course, using the last five miles of the old Hexham to Ovingham Jelly Tea route. It is two weeks before the GNR so is an ideal tester for those of you aiming for the half marathon distance. Please note the different race HQ for number collection, refreshments and prize presentation – details can be found here> tynedaleharriers /our-races
