So to the senior racing: For the ladies and men’s results please pop this address into your web browser: www.harrierleague.com/results/2017-18/Druridge/ . Well done to the counting team of: Elspeth, Catherine, Jill & Sara who brought the ladies team home in 3rd place (and with 74 pts). Great result & support from all of the ladies running.

The men equitted themselves with a fine fifth place (and 179 pts.) on the day. Thanks to: Ian, Lee, John, Mark, Kevin and David for their counting contribution, supported by the gents running and ably support by fellow Elswick runners. All in all a successful day for the club (and half it’s tent!). Thank you all for participation and help on the day.
A special note of congratulations must go to Elswick’s Dave Hodgson who completed The Day in the Lakes Ultra yesterday. This 50 mile race runs from Caldbeck to Cartmel, via Helvellyn Ridge and Lake Windermere and takes in 4000m of ascent. The adverse weather conditions made this a brutal race this year and a third of the competitors dropped out. Dave completed it in 22 hours and anyone running for this length of time deserves a huge well done! and congratulations! on your achievement. Dave’s achievement is also on the club’s FB page. Full results can be found here: http://www.lakesinaday.co.uk/results/2017.php. Below is Dave (first left) with fellow running colleagues and ‘in action’ atop of a rather steep ascent!

Also over this busy weekend, Les Williamson and Tina McIver’s running group took to the trail series of running events in Kielder. Another fine team collective shown here below, here at Kielder, Well done to Elswicks runners “out there” in the wilds of Northumberland.
